Helge Weichmann (born in 1972) Studied geography, journalism and botany at the University of Mainz. Study-accompanying he worked as a freelance at the news agency Reuters, at Taunusfilm and Vision Control. In 1999 he founded the Terra TV Videoproduktion. From the beginning he was interested in intensive collaboration with the University of Mainz. Besides that he teaches "multimedia geography" at the Department of Geography and writes his thesis about the landscape representation in the American Science Fiction film. |

Prof. Dr. Anton Escher (born in 1955)Studied physics, geography, philosophy and Islam science in Erlangen. He did a doctorate in 1985 and qualified as a professor in geography in 1990. Since 1996 he is university professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Mainz. Since 1999 he is active as a scientific adviser within the scope of geographic film contributions and is a project manager of several study groups on the subject "geography and film". Stefan Zimmermann (born in 1970)Studied geography, journalism and communication science as well as political science at the Universities of Göttingen and Exeter. While studying he worked for different newspapers and advertising agencies as a freelancer and script writer. Since 2000 he is a scientific employee in the Department of Geography at the University of Mainz. Within the scope of his Phd thesis he concentrates on the imagined geography of the Orient in the Hollywood feature film. Holger Stangner (born in 1972)Studies geography, ethnology and sociology at the University of Mainz. Worked with the ZDF and acts since 2000 as a freelance cameraman and cutter.
